    Business Outlook

    Pros

The pros used to be that the company was made up of a lot of good people who worked hard and found ways to get the job done - with the focus on providing a high quality service to membership. Unfortunately, we keep losing the good people and really can't call this a pro anymore.

    Cons

Zero innovation. Budget and staff cuts don't allow for any innovation which hurts us now, but also in the future. Creates a sinking ship feeling among those that remain. 100% focus on budget but all the cuts and action do not seem to have an end game where all the pain is worth it. No clear idea of what we are working towards or when it will get better. Hard to stay motivated! Theme seems more panic, less planning. How could we not prepare better for COVID and the waves that we all knew were coming? Senior leadership is so far removed from the day to day - they have zero clue and make no effort to engage with those on the trenches. Prior leadership was engaged and motivated the employees. Current sit in their towers away from everyone and are surrounded by people only saying yes. So many talented people RUNNING out the doors every day. No backfilling so those left are doing more work and do not have the knowledge, resources or funding to do the work properly.

  8. Current Employee, more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits, PTO time, holidays off

    Cons

No movement...people stay in their roles for decades and gradually get more miserable. Technology is antiquated. Horizon blames Covid and whatever else on taking money away from your bonus. But pumps money into woke trainings about white guilt, the 88 different pronouns, and all the ways to discriminate. The company is extremely diverse. Stop pushing your woke agenda.

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The benefits and pay are good; but not that good to cost you your mental health and sanity.

    Cons

Stress….Management is so out of touch with the reality of the employees…. Micromanagers… CEO is horrible and does not care about the employees… the managers will burn you out if you left them. There's no open door policy.. And no work/life balance. This company will send you straight to your grave if you let them.

  10. Current Employee, more than 5 years

    Pros

Smaller company, more chances to try new things and gain exposure to senior levels of management. Allows WFH but how many days allowed is dependent on what part of the company and which leadership you work for. The company culture is mostly good but could use some improvement in getting leadership past their biases and blind spots. Makes an effort to be diverse and open to current day social issues.

    Cons

The HR/Compensation teams and senior level management seriously undervalue employees in IT. The job of a manager is what you'd get a Director title for anywhere else. Directors would have a VP title elsewhere. Because of this, bonuses are lower than they should be for the amount of work. There is also very little room for growth in management unless you leave IT.

  11. Current Employee, more than 3 years

    Pros

    - The pay is fair - 401k + match - Lots of financial education offered during working hours - 5 or 6 paid holidays a year - You get your PTO days since day 1, no need for accruals - Yearly bonus - Yearly raise

    Cons

    - You don't change jobs within the company until you complete 18 months at your current position. I had never seen or heard of a company that holds you up for such a long time. - Chronic IT issues with systems and programs that employees use every day. - Changes in work policies happen way too often. - US$8 a day to park your car at the Newark office
